why blog

I am starting this blog for many of the same reasons other people decide to blog. I'm craving a creative outlet and a podium for my thoughts about life, current events and things that trouble me. In the process, I'll strive to at least build an archive of entertaining or thought provoking pieces for my daughter and friends. But, I'm also setting out to blog for the sole purpose of improving my writing. My essays may evolve over time as works in progress. So critical feedback is encouraged and appreciated. I am hoping that readers will use the comments section to provide constructive critique. I aspire to become a really good writer and perhaps a professional writer. Please take out your red pens and ripe it to shreads--the more critical the feedback the better. Improvements in grammar, structure, tone and focus are all game for improvement. So don't be shy.
